Getting Your Video Marketing Back On Track Post Covid

This isn’t going to be one of those long articles that goes into detail about how detrimental 2020 was for almost everyone. We all know…it kinda sucked. But as history has shown, there’s light at the end of this tunnel as well. No, I want this article specifically to talk about, how to get your online video marketing back up to speed post Covid.

Since most things were shut down last year, the video world got flipped upside down. Almost everyone was on video using things like Zoom or Google Meet for school, meetings, to see family, etc. But almost no one was producing videos for their business or brand. It was interesting for our video agency, because many live action shoots got cancelled or postponed. Obviously that’s a big kick in the gut, but when things get tough, sometimes you have to either wait it out or pivot. So, we decided to do both! We actually took the the time to look at where everything was heading and decided to add 2D and 3D animation to our arsenal. This allowed us to not have to depend on solely live action - when no one was shooting live action.

Now that things seem to be getting back to normal, are you still in Covid mode? Or are you ready to break away from that monster and get back on track with marketing your business? One thing Covid did teach us is that people like to have their content and are watching even more video than before (which is hard to believe). Let me make a couple of suggestions to help you get back on the horse of and market your business.

  1. Make a Plan. This is always the best first step for just about anything because like they say, “you’ll never hit a target you don’t see.” Get out some paper or a white board and start jotting down where you are currently and where you’d like to be in the next couple of months. Then figure out what tools are going to help you and your business get there.

  2. Create Video Content. Well, this seems obvious but I’m still surprised how many people don’t utilize video. I won’t go into the stats about the power of video, you can check that out here, but video is king when it comes to content, and if you’re not creating any, or working with a team that does, you might be shooting yourself in the foot.

  3. Pick a Platform. You’ll need to figure out where your target audience goes and hangout online. With so many social media platforms out there, you may think you’ll just hit the main three. But if you want to make good with your marketing dollars, you need to do a little research or hire a company that can figure that out for you. Because the way the world is now, everything is changing so fast and a lot of people aren’t using just the same old social platforms anymore.

If you’re looking to build some new, stellar, post-Covid video content and not sure where to start, we’d love to talk with you!
